Rider-Aware Club for March

3/3/2018

Greetings Rider-Aware Club!

I have been wanting to have a highly knowledgeable person to present to Rider-Aware Club about essential oils for quite some time. Essential oils can be an excellent tool for our animals’ health and healing toolbox.  They are more powerful than we might understand and, therefore, need to be understood because they have a real potential for being used in erroneous ways.  (I think I inadvertently almost killed my cat a few years ago!)

I was directed to Frances Cleveland by several people at Happy Dog Ranch who have used her services and guidance for the animals at the Ranch.  Clearly, from reading her bio, she fully fit the bill in the knowledgeable category and then some!  I am so pleased to have Frances as our March Rider-Aware Club speaker!  Her topic is titled

Working with Plants and Essential Oils
for You and Your Animals.

Thursday, March 8
6:00-8:30 p.m.
Happy Dog Ranch
7811 W. Titan Rd.
Littleton, CO 80125

Here are the usuals:

·        Bring a friend if you’d like.
·        Bring your tax-deductible donation of any amount for the “Boot” in appreciation not only for the speaker but for the meeting space.  100% goes to benefit the Happy Dog Ranch Foundation so checks may be made out to Happy Dog Ranch. Our speakers generously donate their time and expertise to Rider-Aware Club.

·        I will send an email next week to let you know which location we have been assigned.
·        If you have any questions, email me at cjoneskizkaz@aol.com.

Looking forward to seeing you Thursday,

Cindy Jones

P.S. (as promised) Rider-Aware Club is a monthly social/educational gathering which meets each 2nd Thursday of the month at Happy Dog Ranch in Littleton.  The mission is to gather as a community and to host speakers on a wide range of equine related topics.  Everyone is welcome. There are no dues or fees, rather donations are requested which go to benefit the Happy Dog Ranch Foundation.  Please go to happydogranch.org or to the Happy Dog Ranch Facebook page to see for yourself what a deserving foundation it is!

Frances Fitzgerald Cleveland has worked with horses for more than 25 years in a range of disciplines. Her aspirations started with horses and grew to include people and other animals. In 1996, Frances founded her company, FrogWorks. She has always aimed to heighten the well-being of people and animals naturally, through individualized use of essential oils.

Frances has extensive experience in the realms of health and behavior as it relates to both animals and humans. She obtained certification from the Institute of Dynamic Aromatherapy, founded by Jade Shutes, and the International School of Animal Aromatics. Frances studied in England with Caroline Ingraham, the pioneer of Animal Aromatics. Frances is an apprentice of Rosemary Gladstar, world renowned author, herbalist and teacher, and has completed the intensive Apprenticeship Program and the Science and Art of Herbalism Program in the didactic, therapeutic, laboratory and fieldwork in herbalism. She is also a graduate from the University of Connecticut receiving a BA in Journalism and Environmental Science.

Frances recently trained zookeepers in the use of essential oils on animals. Her groundbreaking Animal Aromatherapy work at The Denver Zoo with the Orangutans, Gorillas and Black Crested Macaques was covered in the Denver Post and L.A.Times. Frances' work has also been written about by the Rocky Mountain News, Associated Press, The German Press and a featured guest on Animal Radio. This work showed excellent results, which confirm the effectiveness of essential oils. These magnificent animals clearly demonstrated which oils they wanted, when they wanted them and how they wanted them applied. They have truly been teachers about how these oils can help them.

Her specific expertise, her love of animals and people, and her commitment to natural healing make Frances a respected and highly effective herbalist and aromatherapist. Frances currently lives in Colorado where she teaches and practices the art of working with essential oils and plants and manufactures her internationally sold products.
